In an interview the Governor of Hawaii has come out and stated that he may release President Obama’s birth certificate in order to “silence the birther movement”. The thing that strikes me odd is the fact that this comes out right after Chris Matthews statement stating “Obama should be putting the birth certificate controversy surrounding President Obama to rest. Why has the president himself not demanded they put out the original documents?" Matthews wonders. "If it exists, why not put it out?" Chris Matthews asks.

This is a good question, and not wanting to sound like a loon, I know when I joined the military I had to provide my birth certificate and social security card. The President is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, why is he not subjected to the same rules? All I want is the leader of the military to produce the same documents that every serviceman that is currently enlisted or has EVER enlisted needed to produce.

Can’t help but wonder what is trying to be hidden, as not only has the President gone to great lengths to keep his birth certificate hidden, but why is he also keeping his collage records secret also? In fact, during the election a challenge was made as to McCain’s eligibility. a question he quickly answered by producing his birth certificate, as he was born at the Panama Canal. Mr. McCain was born on a military installation in the Canal Zone, where his mother and father, a Navy officer, were stationed.

This may be the first time I can say that I have ever agreed with Chris Matthews, show the evidence and get it over with, unless there IS something to hide.

Football is to be be played in the elements, while I am on this rent I’ll also discuss my hatred for domed stadiums. Football is meant to be played in the elements. If it is raining, you need to put on longer cleats, and so forth. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and we would NEVER want a dome. We welcome the elements. If it is raining/snowing it is doing it to both teams. The team that can handle the other team and the elements wins. Taking the weather out of the equation makes the game less interesting. Like having to figure out which end to defend on a kickoff is much more important in an open venue than it is in a dome. No wind to contend with makes that decision irrelevant. That also takes the chess like battle strategy out of the game. That in itself makes domes homes for the gutless.

That being said, Roger Godell and domed stadiums need to be gone from the NFL soon. For nothing else than to protect the game. If we can’t outlaw domes, can we at least outlaw Godell?  

It really irks me that our elected officials refuse to listen to the people. (who they work for.) Could you imagine going to work and your boss tells you to do something, and you do the polar opposite, do you think that you would continue to have a job? I don’t think so. Why do our elected officials feel that they know better than the people they work for?

The longer this legislation drones on, the more I realize these people do not feel as though they work for us. That is now they are shooting for “the Demon option” so they can have deniability. This is bull. If an official stands by and allows this to become law by saying “I didn’t vote for it” But you didn’t vote against it either, so you are guilty of doing nothing.

The last line of the Declaration of Independence, says it all “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

The problem is no one in Washington, would take this pledge. Most would not lay down their lives for the country, and therefore have no honor.

Contact your representative and tell they to vote NO for this garbage bill!

After watching this speech, do you have any doubt?

This morning I was watching some of the video from this years Podcamp, and felt as though I needed to write something for all the people who didn’t get a chance to attend. I have attended Podcamp 3 and 4. Both were GREAT experiences.

The question that I get asked is “What makes Podcamp such a big deal?” The answer is simple… Nowhere else can you get 500 people interested in social media in the same place. Yes, there are online forums and so forth, but this gives “geeks” the ability to meet 3-dimensional people.

Being there I met bloggers, podcasters, video-podcasters, social media folks. The thing I appreciate more than anything is some of the friends I have made, and the coolest thing to me was when someone came up to me and said, “I listen to you all the time, I am a big fan.” A fan… WOW… I have been involved in Podcasting in one form or another for four years and it was the first time I had met someone that listens to my stuff, and that was awesome. There were also people that wanted to get my picture, that was really odd, but very cool. Also I met people that invited me onto thier shows, and I invited them to mine.

I met lots of great people, and made some friends to be on my shows as well as appear on theirs. Podcamp 5 can’t get here soon enough!

Well now that the G20 is finally over, and things have gotten back to normal here in Pittsburgh I have some thoughts.

While the G20 was relatively quiet largely in part to the fantastic job by the Pittsburgh Police force and all the others that came to help out Pittsburgh’s finest in addition to the PA State Police and National Guard. Now the videos are starting to surface claiming police brutality. In my opinion the Police forces we VERY disciplined in keeping the peace without use of unnecessary force. The groups that are claiming brutality, are the ones that deserved much MORE brutality. Just remember civil disobedience is still disobedience.

Once again Pittsburgh weathered a potential storm and came out no worse for wear, because that is what we do. We take potential problems and turn them around.

Dear Mr. President,

Thank you for selecting Pittsburgh to hold your G20 conference, in an effort to demonstrate how we turned around and have a thriving economy, and REALLY appreciate you shutting down that same economy for 2 full days. I hope that something constructive came out of this annoyance. Additionally, who is going to cover the losses to all the small businesses that had to board up and close due to all the protesters you knew this fiasco would attract? Next time one of these comes around please remember that we have done our duty, and leave us off the short list.

What the hell were you thinking? You KNEW the potential problems that accompany the G20, and yet you were all for it. After all the damage is counted up, and all the lost wages are figured out, I hope your photo-op was worth it.
